This page is a tribute to remember my Sister, Elizabeth Joy Crampton, and to raise funds for Manorlands Hospice where she received such loving care at the end of her life.

(Elizabeth) Joy Crampton (nee Martin) Funeral Notice

It is with great sadness we have to announce the passing of Joy Crampton at Manorlands Hospice on 13th May 2026.

A celebration of her life will take place at Shay Grange Crematorium on Thursday 4th June at 12.45pm.

This will be followed by singing and dancing at the Raggalds pub in Queensbury.

Joy requested musicians to bring their instruments, dancers to bring their dancing shoes and everyone to bring their voices to make this a Joyous (sic) celebration!

Absolutely no flowers please as Joy wants you to give as much money as possible to Manorlands for the wonderful work they do.

Joy also requested bright colours to be worn and dangly earrings as she loved wearing them.

For those unable to attend, it is hoped for a live stream to be available, details to be confirmed.

In Lister Park the morning after a gig at Bradford Festival

The annual carol singing in south Bradford area. My favourite part of Christmas. Joy used to take me there and back again despite being miles out of her way. She was so kind.

So sad to lose lovely Joy (though she would say 'Get over it! Life goes on!'). One of the first people to talk to me (Joe) when I started going to the Topic Folk Club when I moved to Bradford in 1982 and a friend ever since. So glad that we got to see more of each other again in recent years despite us living in York and that Joy & Fiona got on so well. Thanks for all the lifts to carol singing!
